All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), operating under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and standards of technical education across the country. Established in 1945, AICTE is responsible for planning, formulation, and maintenance of norms and standards, accreditation, funding in priority areas, monitoring, and evaluation of technical education and training in India.
The recent inclusion of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) under AICTE’s purview in the year 2024 aims to standardise and enhance the quality of these programs, which are increasingly critical in a rapidly evolving global economy. By bringing BBA and BCA under its regulatory framework, AICTE seeks to ensure that these programs adhere to uniform academic standards, incorporate industry-relevant curricula, and produce graduates equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the demands of the business and technology sectors.
